# Other clients

> Connect any MCP client that supports remote servers.

Any MCP client that supports remote servers can use rho. It needs:

- **The URL**: `https://api.rho.store/mcp`
- **Transport**: streamable HTTP.
- **Authentication**: OAuth 2.1. rho registers the client itself (dynamic client registration), so there is no client ID or secret to enter. The client opens rho in a browser, where you sign in and allow it.

A client that can only start local (stdio) servers can't connect yet.

## Read only, or read and write

When you allow a client, you choose what it may do. A **read-only** connection can list, describe and query tables and read their history. Anything that writes, shares or makes a receipt is refused with a hint to reconnect with read and write access.

To change what a client may do, disconnect it on the **Agents** page of the rho app, and connect it again.
